Digital Printing:

As the world moves at a faster pace, so does the urgency to keep your print media out in front of your audience. At ColorGraphic Printing we have the digital printing capability to help you do that. Many pieces can be out the door in 24 hours or less while giving you the piece of mind to move on to the next project.

Offset or Digital? Which is right for me?

The answer to this question depends on a few factors. Your CGP representative can help you work through the details to decide what is best and most efficient for your project but here are a few points to consider.

What quantity do you need?

Digital presses are great for small quantity runs. They have much less setup and up front costs than offset presses. However, the unit cost levels off quickly and the customer doesn’t see much of a unit cost reduction from higher quantities that they may see from offset printing.

How fast do you need it?

Digital printing can be pushed through to bindery immediately after coming off the press. However, the higher unit costs of larger quantities than offset may not be worth the quick turn around.

How large is the piece?

With current technology offset presses are able to print on a much larger sheet size. Your piece may be too large for a digital press, so your only option is offset printing. This is something to discuss with your CGP representative before designing your piece.

Does your piece have color critical spot colors?

Digital presses have come a long way in either printing pantone colors or emulating them with four color process, however, they are still not as close to matching the pantone color as an offset press.

Are you printing with variable data?

Variable data is a great way to personalize your piece to achieve a larger response from your customer. However, it can only be incorporated into digital printing. That is where the customer needs to weigh the options of size and quantity to see if variable data printing is feasible.
