Frequently asked questions

What file format should I submit for printing?

We recommend PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4 with embedded fonts and CMYK color space. This ensures predictable color reproduction and prevents format issues during print. Always include bleed and crop marks on press-ready files.

What’s the difference between CMYK and spot colors (like Pantone)?
  • CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) is the standard for full-color printing, ideal for photos and complex graphics.

  • Spot color (PMS) delivers exact color matches for logos and brand colors. It’s often used on business cards or branded collateral where consistent color is critical.

What is bleed and why is it important?

“Bleed” is extra image or background area that extends beyond the trim edge. Without bleed, slight misalignments in trimming can leave white borders. Standard bleed is 0.125 inches (3mm). Always check your printer’s specific requirements.

How long does printing take?

Turnaround varies by project size and process. Typical printing times:

  • Digital printing – 1–2 business days

  • Offset printing – 3–7 business days

  • Large format – 2–5 business days

Rush services are often available for an additional fee. Shipping and Delivery of your project will incure additional time beyond the print time.

Do you offer design or prepress services?

Yes! We offer in-house design and prepress support to prepare files, check bleeds, build layouts, and ensure color accuracy before your project goes to press.

Can you handle mailing and fulfillment?

Absolutely. We provide list processing, variable data printing, kitting, and mailing services, simplifying multi-step marketing campaigns.

What paper stocks do you recommend?

Recommendations depend on project goals:

  • Coated Stocks — vibrant colors for brochures & flyers

  • Uncoated — elegant, softer feel for letterheads or stationery

  • Cardstock — durable choice for business cards and covers

We can recommend weights and finishes based on your project.
